Top 10 cars sold in April 2012
Sales have declined for most of the cars in April 2012, thanks to the post-budget price hike. Here are the top 10 cars sold in April 2012
Maruti Suzuki Swift Taking the numero uno position as the highest selling car, the Swift sold 19484 units last month.
Maruti Suzuki Alto The Alto sales dropped by almost 50% to 17842 units, putting it at number 2
Maruti Suzuki DZire The DZire continued its strong march at 15510 units, maintaining its number 3 position
Maruti Suzuki WagonR The WagonR sales declined to 10247 units but the car continues to remain number 4 on this list
Hyundai Eon At number 5 is the Eon which sold 8541 units, even though sales declined over the previous month
Mahindra Bolero Gaining 3 places, the Bolero has reached 6th position, with 8205 units being sold
Tata Nano The world's cheapest car sold 8028 units, which keeps it at number 7. The Nano sales declined last month.
Hyundai i10 Selling 7872 units, the i10 continues to remain 8th in the top selling list in April.
Hyundai i20 Out of nowhere has the i20 emerged, selling 7562 units and jumping 7 places.
Maruti Suzuki Omni The Omni continues to sell and manages to enter the top 10, selling 7321 units last month.

Sony unveils smart phones
Sony Mobile Communications of Japanese electronics major Sony Corporation Thursday unveiled a range of smart phones for the upward mobile with unique features to access a plethora of services anywhere and anytime.

Sony Mobile Communications of Japanese electronics major Sony Corporation Thursday unveiled a range of smart phones for the upward mobile with unique features to access a plethora of services anywhere and anytime.
"Our new devices are a sign of the brand's commitment to Indian users, especially youth, young professionals and upward mobile who would like to stay connected and access a range of services in voice, data and digital forms," Sony Mobile marketing head Prasun Kumar told reporters at a product preview here.
Priced between Rs.17,399 and Rs.25,449, the three smart devices - Xperia U, Xperia P and Xperia Solar - have been designed for youth, executives on the move and high-profile users for a variety of services and applications through internet, web and television channels.
"The Xperia smartphones have been designed around user experiences of listen, watch, play and create and share to improve their personal, professional and social life. The Sola smart phone boasts of 'floating touch' for accessing web services by holding any finger on the screen to open the links," Sony mobile managing director P. Balaji said in a statement.
The company's smartphones, which operate on Android platform, are shipped to India from its manufacturing units in Japan, China and Mexico.
To promote the devices, the Indian subsidiary has tied up with Tata Teleservices Ltd to provide with free data services up to 3GB on Tata Docomo platform and about 30 games

The Figo uses a 1.4-litre DuraTorq engine to produce 68 BHP and 160 Nm. This motor is very refined and offers excellent drive-ability.
The Swift has been a massive success with the diesel model bringing in most of the sales. It is powered by a 1.3-litre Multijet engine which produces 74 BHP and 190 Nm.
The Rapid's 1600cc engine produces 105 BHP of power and 250 Nm of torque. This along with the fantastic chassis makes the Rapid very entertaining to drive.
