T3 Gadget Awards 2011

The T3 Gadget Awards 2011 were announced this week, with Microsoft Kinect taking home the top honour of Gadget of the Year.

The Microsoft Xbox Kinect is the fastest-selling consumer durable product of all time. Using a motion sensing input device, the Kinect puts you in the game as it enables the gamer to control and interact without the need to touch the game controller.

Computer of the Year: Apple MacBook Air 11-inch
Apple's MacBook Air 11-inch beat competition from Samsung and Sony to be crowned the 'Computer of the Year'. With an impressive 4GB of RAM and with a SSD storage drive, this MacBook Air is fast and attractive to the eyes.

Commuter Gadget of the Year: Amazon Kindle
Amazon's electronic book reader, the Kindle, has been named the commuter gadget of the year, beating Apple's iPad and iPhone. Weighing less than a paperback, the Kindle can hold upto 3500 e-books and its crisp font makes it easy to be read even in bright light.

Tablet of the Year: Apple iPad 2
It's not surprising that the Apple iPad 2 won the 'Tablet of the Year' award. It has dominated the tablet market fighting stiff competition from Samsung and other Android based devices. Apple decked up the iPad 2 with an ARM A5 dual-core processor to dramatically improve its iOS powered tablet.

Phone of the Year: Samsung Galaxy S II
The Samsung Galaxy S II beat Apple's iPhone 4 for the coveted title of 'Phone of the Year'. Among the Galaxy S II's features are a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, a 4.3-inch display, wave-and-pay technology and 4G download speeds.

TV of the Year: Samsung UE55D8000
Voted the 'TV of the Year', Samsung again proved that they can make beautiful television sets. The 'Samsung UE55D8000' enables viewers to access YouTube, Facebook, Twitter through numerous TV apps. It's ultra-slim, supports 3D, and has enough HDMI inputs to satisfy just about everyone.

Work Gadget of the Year: RIM Blackberry Bold 9780
Fighting off stiff competition from Apple's iPhone, Samsung and HTC, the Blackberry Bold 9780 has been voted as the 'Work Gadget of the Year'. This smartphone with the latest BlackBerry OS has better multimedia features and multitouch elements.
